Tesco Carlisle, Flood Defences

In December 2015, the North West of England suffered severe storm flooding. One of our biggest clients Key Property Solutions (KPS) were tasked by Tesco to construct a temporary store to maintain operations whilst at the same time repairing the flood damages to the main store. SinCera provided Groundworks and fit-out resources to assist with this program.

CONSTRUCTION / GROUNDWORKS / LANDSCAPING

Client: KPS
Date: Various
Duration: 6 Weeks
Value: Circa £100k

After the remedial works were completed, SinCera were asked to carry out the civil and groundworks associated with the installation of flood defence systems around the perimeter openings and exposed areas of the store. The largest part of those works was the installation of a water tight perimeter wall at the rear of the building to protect the substation and essential infrastructure.

The excavation was particularly challenging due to the poor makeup of the ground and the fact we had to dig almost 3 metre to reach a clay bed.

Below are a list of the works which were delivered on this particular project:

- Groundworks
- Site surveying
- Excavation (Internal)
- Earth work supports
- Formwork
- Waterproof concrete wall (certified)
- Landscaping
